Before the imager, we used to inspect plates manually. Without the Formulator, we had no automated way of making mixtures of solutions, it had to be done manually.

Previous Method:
“I was not at Genzyme before they had this instrument, but I did do crystallography. Prior to coming to Genzyme I formulated all optimization screens by hands, usually in 24-well format. The Formulator has made the formulation and dispensing of custom screens, particularly for optimization, much faster and more precise. I’m now able to make more finely sliced optimization screens and test a wider variety of conditions much faster.”
